INDIANAPOLIS – A customer’s car crashed through the window of a pet salon on Friday in southeast Indianapolis, sending several people to hospital with minor injuries.

The incident happened around 10:30 a.m. at the Snipits Pet Salon located at 6835 E. Southport Rd., East of Shelbyville Road.

The shop owner was not there at the time, but spoke to CBS4 when he arrived. Five employees were inside the store when a customer bringing his dog may have confused the car’s pedals and stepped on the accelerator, slamming the car through the window.

Four of the employees went to the hospital with minor cuts and scrapes. An employee may have suffered a concussion.

The store had 25 dogs inside at the time of the incident. All were found and were not injured. The Franklin Falls Animal Clinic helped round up the dogs and keep them until their owners come to pick them up.

The accident caused damage estimated at between $ 50,000 and $ 60,000. Appointments are being canceled until next week, as the store determines when it can reopen.
