How to get tickets to LGBTQ+ acts, including Pet Shop Boys

The Glastonbury 2022 lineup was filled with LGBTQ+ talent touring the UK.

The Glastonbury Festival is officially over after another year of many iconic moments.

From Sugababes shutting down the Avalon stage due to overcrowding to Olivia Rodrigo bringing in Lily Allen to perform and dedicate “F**k You” to the Supreme Court Justices.

There were also plenty of LGBTQ+ artists on the lineup, with Arlo Parks, St. Vincent, Kae Tempest, Pet Shop Boys, Years & Years, and Phoebe Bridgers among those looking for queer talent.

Whether you’re watching the best bits on TV, streaming every set throughout the weekend, or at Worthy Farm, you might be wondering how you can catch some of the acts live.

A number of standout artists are touring the UK throughout 2022 and 2023, and we’ve put together a list of LGBTQ+ acts you can get tickets for.

Self love

When: February 21 – March 11, 2023

After another acclaimed set at Glastonbury, the Self Esteem singer embarks on her biggest UK tour yet in 2023.

This will be in support of his acclaimed album, Prioritize pleasure which was released in late 2021, and see her heading to Manchester, London, Cardiff, Belfast and Birmingham.

The album features singles “I Do This All The Time”, “How Can I Help You”, “Moody” alongside the title track.

Her second LP overall, it sheds light on issues of female autonomy, comparison culture, self-doubt, grief, sexual assault, comparison culture and self-acceptance.

Pet Shop Boys

When: June 17-23, 2023

The Pet Shop Boys headlined the Other Stage on Glastonbury’s closing night, playing some of their biggest hits.

They were also joined by another queer pop icon, Olly Alexander, to perform a duet of “Dreamland.”

After their set, they announced their greatest hits UK tour, with arena dates scheduled in London, Leeds, Liverpool and Aberdeen in 2023.

It will see them perform their back catalog including “West End Girls”, “You Were Always on My Mind”, “Go West” and “It’s a Sin” to name a few.

St. Vincent

When: June 28-30, 2022

After a set on the other stage at Glastonbury, St. Vincent continues to take the UK by storm with a handful of dates in June.

You won’t have long to catch it as the remaining dates will run between June 28 and 30, with shows scheduled in London, Edinburgh and Bexhill-on-Sea.

The tour is in support of his sixth studio album also titled daddy’s housewhich was inspired by her father’s release from prison in 2019, at the same time she began writing the LP.

When: September 19 – October 4, 2022

Clairo will tour across the UK and Ireland this fall, after dates were pushed back to early 2022 due to the coronavirus pandemic.

The singer-songwriter will perform songs from her second album Sling including “Amoeba” and “Blouse” as well as material from her breakthrough album Immunity.

She performed on the John Peel Stage on Glastonbury Sunday before joining Lorde on the Pyramid Stage to perform a stunning rendition of ‘Stoned at the Nail Salon’ alongside Arlo Parks.

During her solo set, she wore a t-shirt that read ‘Bans Off Our Bodies’ in response to the Supreme Court’s decision to tear down Roe v Wade.

After a sold-out European tour and a set on Glastonbury’s John Peel Stage, girl in red will return to the UK in 2023 for their biggest show yet.

The singer-songwriter will perform at London’s O2 Brixton Academy on April 3 and if you want to catch him, be quick as tickets may also sell out.

The show will be in support of his debut album, If I could make it quiet which includes the singles “Midnight Love” and “You Stupid Bitch”.

When: September 3-4

Kae Tempest recently completed her UK tour in support of her fifth studio album, The line is a curve. But there’s still a chance to see them live this year if you saw them at Glastonbury or streamed the set live.

They are on the program of the new Bristol festival, Forwards, on September 3 and 4.

Tempest will perform at the festival on Sunday, alongside headliners The Chemical Brothers and Roisin Murphy, Self Esteem and Caribou.

Meanwhile, Saturday will be headlined by Jamie xx and will feature Little Simz, Charli XCX and Shygirl on the lineup.

As well as two main music stages, the festival will feature ‘The Information’, a space for activism, examination, debate and understanding about current events and cultural issues of today.
