Man arrested after stealing vehicle and crashing into pet grooming business – Greeley Tribune

A 22-year-old man faces criminal charges after police said he stole a vehicle, escaped police and fled the scene after hitting a property on Tuesday night.

James Pike reported the theft of his 2001 Chevrolet Malibu on 19th Avenue and 12th Street on Tuesday after leaving his keys in the vehicle.

At around 5:30 p.m. that evening, officers responded to a visual of the vehicle with updates on the location by Pike’s roommate. Police saw the stolen vehicle across the road and began to attempt to contact the driver.

Brendan Parker, 22, the driver of the stolen vehicle, began to evade police, police said. Parker crashed into The Dog Pawlour, a pet grooming company located at 3616 10th St.

Parker fled on foot after the crash, but was arrested by police and taken to a local hospital to be medically cleared at Weld County Jail. No injuries were reported.

The Dog Pawlour posted an update on their Facebook page indicating that all of their services are closed for today, with the exception of pet grooming. According to store owner Brittany Munsch, the car hit the corner of the store, which is being repaired. The company will resume normal operations on Thursday.

According to the department, Parker was incarcerated at Weld County Jail in violation of:

  • Aggravated motor vehicle theft
  • Escaped Crime
  • Dangerous driving
  • Driving a vehicle while the license is revoked
  • On the left, the scene of the accident after hitting a property

He had a bail hearing at 2:30 p.m. today.
