A NEW pet shop is a delight for animal lovers and furry friends at Royal Wootton Bassett.
Daniel Lewis and Luke Bartley, who run the Walks With Paws grooming and care department, have opened Ruby and Dexter’s doors on the High Street.
“One of our friends dressed up as a dog called Barney, which performed wonderfully,” said Daniel, 25, of Fairfield. “Everyone was so sweet, they loved it and the kids too.
“The first day was fantastic, it couldn’t have gone better, we were delighted. The support we have received, whether on Facebook or in person, has been incredible.
“We’ve been planning to open this for over a year now, I’m not sure if it’s finally happened and the community has come together to support us.”
Daniel and Luke named their store after their chihuahuas. It offers a range of organic products for dogs, cats, small animals, birds and other wild animals.
“Between Luke and I, we have over 14 years of experience behind us in the pet industry,” Daniel said. “This is valuable knowledge and experience that will allow us to provide the best service for humans and animals.
“We know from firsthand experience that it is difficult to find good quality, natural pet products without going to multiple stores, and with the very limited options at Royal Wootton Bassett, we decided to start a new company. distinct.
“We have always had a keen interest in animals from a young age, not only for the company and the hugs they provide, but also for other important factors such as their health, nutrition and general well-being. . ”
Grooming services at Walks With Paws have been discontinued but will continue at Ruby and Dexter.
The couple are enthusiastic and optimistic about the future.
Daniel added: “Since the start of the pandemic it has been quite difficult for all businesses and industries, but we are very fortunate to work in the pet industry where owners of their pets continue to generate income for the business.
“We have had our fair share of hardships during the closures, but we strongly believe and believe that there is a need for our type of business in our hometown that would tremendously benefit residents and especially their pets.”
