One Fur All Pet House Candle Review

I recently learned that there is nothing worse than someone commenting, “Your apartment smells like a petting zoo. I won’t mention which friend of mine casually made this remark when they came over for a board game night, but I will say that after spending hours deep cleaning my house in anticipation of company, this hurt and embarrassed me deeply. I laughed at it, but didn’t invite anyone to my home – which was often the perfect place for movie nights, pre-game sessions, and general outings – for months afterwards.

You see, my fiance and I are animal lovers. We have two rescue dogs with special needs and an adopted cat, which the three of us love, but it has undoubtedly taken its toll on our home. We would never want to live without our herd of quirky pets, but I could take a break from the constant worry that our home smells like them, even after vacuuming, steaming and febreezing.

Since I started to burn these candles, I am no longer afraid to host at home.

So there you have it, I discovered One All Fur‘s “Pet House Candles” for $ 22 each on Amazon. When I first wrote them for POPSUGAR, it was based solely on the completely positive reviews; as a puzzled pet owner myself, I thought others would like to hear about this so called ‘miracle’ candle too! But when a few of the candles landed on my desk later that week, I was only hesitantly optimistic – didn’t want to focus on anything that might disappoint me.

Suffice to say that I was not disappointed by the candles. Somehow, without being overpowering, burning a Pet House candle in my living room was enough to mask the smell of my furry babies in just half an hour. I felt like I had discovered the real magic!

Candles have become a staple in my home, even after moving to a new apartment with brand new rugs (read: no musky smell) and a more airy layout than our old place. I almost always have one burning, and despite my initial fears that the packaging wouldn’t complement my decorating style – I usually go for more minimalist candles – they’re actually quite pretty. I even instagrammed them! My favorite scent is Lilac garden, but you can bet i will order Pumpkin Spice, Cider, and Evergreen forest fall and winter come.

Since I started to burn these candles, I am no longer afraid to host at home. Between the frequent cleaning that accompanies the territory of owning animals and the miraculously effective scent of Pet House candles, there’s no way my house will smell anything near a “petting zoo”. . . and boy, does that feel good!
