Has anyone ever walked into Lowe’s to pick out a light fixture and thought, “Damn, I wish that guy in the blue apron could groom my dog?” Probably not.
Even so, this bizarre hypothesis is about to become reality thanks to the brilliant entrepreneurial minds of Lowe’s and Petco, reports the MySA news site. Major home improvement and pet retail chains have teamed up to launch Lowe’s+Petco pilot stores in select markets across the country.
For some reason, San Antonio is one of them.
“For many of our customers, their pets and their homes are at the top of the list of things that matter most, especially after two years of mostly being together in the same four walls,” said the executive vice president of marketing at Lowe, Bill Boltz, in a press release.
The new store-within-a-store concept will launch next month at Alamo Ranch, and the duo hope to open 14 more in Texas, North Carolina and South Carolina, according to MySA.
Maybe if the combo works well enough, pet lovers can also buy dishwashers at their local Petco store. But don’t expect too much.
