Pet ‘salon’ receives AKC certification | Local company

HENDERSON — Heavenly Scent Pet Resort owner Carol Vaughn announced this week that the resort has gained national recognition by becoming a SAFE-certified salon by the American Kennel Club (AKC).

According to the AKC, Safety Assurance Fundamentals Education certification shows customers and employees that the grooming organization is committed to seeking greater knowledge and understanding of safety practices in the salon to better improve health and safety. welfare of their client dogs.

Participants must demonstrate proficiency in overall dog safety, dog handling skills, sanitation protocols, canine disease and parasite prevention, and emergency plans.

The resort has submitted an organizational assessment and all have pledged to uphold the 16-point AKC SAFE Certified Groomer/Salon Oath, Vaughn said in a press release.

“Heavenly Scent’s passion is to operate as the highest quality, safest, most sanitary facility and most professional grooming/boarding/training business in the area,” Vaughn said. “Providing my employees with ongoing training such as SAFE has allowed Heavenly Scent to have a highly professional team that delivers excellent service.”

Heavenly Scent, in business for 16 years, offers grooming, deluxe boarding and obedience classes to over 350 loyal customers.
