Kanski has always had an entrepreneurial spirit and having grown up in the salon industry, he knew how many parallels the grooming and salon industry had. When he was ready to embark on his own entrepreneurial pursuits, he knew he wanted to combine his background in the hair salon industry with his passion for animals. When the opportunity to take over the Salty Dawg Houston site presented itself, he knew it was a brand he wanted to be a part of and jumped at the chance.
“Franchising offers an opportunity to be a business owner, but still benefit from the guidance of an already established business and team,” Kanski said. “I grew up with 2 dogs, a boxer and a springer spaniel and having watched my mother run her salon throughout my childhood, the opportunity to combine what I know about the industry with my love of animals was an easy choice. My goal was to find a brand that is dedicated to not only providing a haircut for dogs, but also a premium experience that makes them feel safe and happy. I can’t wait to get back to the Houston site.
Kanski is looking to be fully operational and operating the Katy site in August. He plans to partner with Paul Mitchell Schools to hire students interested in grooming as a career and passionate about pets. He is thrilled to be part of a brand that is dedicated to providing the best quality care for our furry friends.
