Valley Pet Grooming to open with customer care in mind

MADAWASKA, Maine – A new pet groomer will open on August 1 on Main Street in hopes of becoming a hub for local pet care.

Valley Pet Grooming was founded by Temika Rafford and Nanette Levasseur, two groomers who sought to create a pet salon under their own management. Rafford said they wanted to put the focus back on the client and were ready to try new cuts, treatments and styles.

“We try to customize the grooming – whatever customers want, we try to do it,” Rafford said. “We’re always open to trying new things. We are always open to new ideas.

The two also say they’re looking to incorporate a daycare aspect into that of the groomer, so people can drop off their four-legged friends for a cut and not have to worry about other conflicts in their schedules. .

Going forward, Rafford said she hopes to showcase pet supplies from local businesses and artisans.

” It’s a lot of work, [but] it’s exciting, ”Rafford said.

Groomers are accepting dogs and cats of all sizes in their new location and are offering $ 5 off for people who plan in their first week.
